4- slenderbodies -  “Amnesia” off Fabulist: Extended - EP - 2017

“The California-based duo met while attending university, and came together as a creative force 3 years later. The two wrote, recorded and produced their debut album “Sotto Voce” over the span of a month and 380 miles. The result was an emotionally impactful, sonically soft collection of songs, with intricate airy guitar work complemented by gentle vocals and present drums.”

A New York band to the core, QTY emits a classic blend of streetwise grit and literate songcraft, calling to mind the delivery of Lou Reed and the hooks of the Strokes.

7- Les Amazones d'Afrique - “Dombolo (feat. Angélique Kidjo)” - off République Amazone - 2017

Les Amazones d'Afrique is a contemporary world music supergroup formed in Mali in 2015.

8- MakeLove - “Dive In” off  Dive In - Single - 2015

9 - of Montreal - “Paranoiac Intervals / Body Dysmorphia” - off  White Is Relic / Irrealis Mood - EP- 2018

Of Montreal is an American indie rock band from Athens, Georgia. It was founded by frontman Kevin Barnes in 1996, named after a failed romance between Barnes and a woman "of Montreal."

10- Kali Uchis - “After The Storm (feat. Tyler, The Creator & Bootsy Collins)” - off After The Storm (feat. Tyler, The Creator & Bootsy Collins) - Single - 2018

Karly-Marina Loaiza, better known as her stage name Kali Uchis, is a Colombian-American singer, songwriter, record producer, music video director, and fashion designer.

11 - The Schizophonics - “Ooga Booga Boogaloo” off Ooga Booga - EP - 2017

Over the last few years, the SCHIZOPHONICS have built up a formidable reputation in San Diego as an Explosive live act.Tapping into the same unstoppable combination of rock 'n' roll energy and showmanship that fueled THE MC5 in the heyday of the Grande Ballroom, they're also heavily influenced by artists like JAMES BROWN, IGGY POP, JIMI HENDRIX, LITTLE RICHARD, and THE SONICS.   

12 - Franz Ferdinand -  “Lazy Boy” off Always Ascending - 2018

Franz Ferdinand are a Scottish indie rock band, formed in 2002 and based in Glasgow. 


A new segment debuting here on The Earful where we throw at you some of our favorite instrumental solos of all time. Whether it be keys, guitar, brass, bass, drums or even sax it’s all fair game. If you the listeners have any favorite future solos you feel are deemed worthy please throw our way!
